I was at the Birmingham Christmas Market with a friend. As we stopped to chat, a man put his hands on my neck forcefully. He didn’t say a word and it was over quickly. He then walked off, like nothing happened. I never got a look at his face, I didn’t even see the direction he came in. A crowd around me saw, asked if I was okay and offered to walk me back to the train station. I informed police but they didn’t do much – closed the case without even looking at CCTV. So much for “violence against women is our priority”.
